Six Steps To Having The Best Remote AID Ever

Remote AID 2020
In this article

We are so excited to be hosting a full day working from home online event to help both businesses and employees who are struggling to create work from home practices.

With thousands of people attending RemoteAID we wanted to share our top six tips for getting the most out of the experience. You won’t get access to such a wide range of experts and businesses all in one place online anywhere else again (unless we organise another one!)

Get set up in advance.

We have a full day of events, with workshops and talks running all day across three different sessions as well as over thirty expo partners and networking events. Have a look at the schedule in advance and plan your work day around the sessions you want to attend.

We recommend blocking the whole day out to gain as much access and knowledge as you can. If you have meetings already booked, why not invite them along to enjoy the event with you instead?

Make sure you are registered with the event in advance and fill in your profile information. We recommend including your company name in your surname such as Hannah has done below to show she is a Moderator.

For the best Hopin experience, we recommend Chrome or Firefox. Please avoid Brave, Safari, and Microsoft IE or Edge.

Get involved in the chat.

There are multiple chat channels at RemoteAID. Each one serves a different purpose. The main chat is there to share announcements and stage information. Each session has its own chat where you can meet others watching the same talk as you.

What you may have not seen in other events is that we also have an exhibition space ‘Expo’ where you can talk to representatives from some of Remote Work’s biggest brands and get access to incredible deals just like you would at a normal conference or trade show

You can also direct message other attendees if you want to speak in private or discuss a panel you attended together further. So many different ways to connect and network!

Use Thought Exchange.

Thought Exchange is a brilliant way to share your thoughts and ideas about the panels, talks and discussions at RemoteAID. Each session has its own Thought Exchange with the link posted in the chat. Within this programme you can share your thoughts and questions for the speaker anonymously. Is there something you wouldn’t dare ask in the chat or want to make sure that the Speaker has access to to respond without getting lost in the chat? This is the programme to use!

Explore the Expo Zone.

We’ve rounded up over thirty incredible brands to support RemoteAID, all providing incredible deals and discounts that are exclusive to our attendees.

You can visit the booths whenever you want and at dedicated points throughout the day there will be brand representatives within the booth chat to answer any questions you have about their products and services.

A great way to see what is available to help you work remotely and an insane amount of opportunity to grab yourself a great deal!

Take part in Networking.

The Networking area in Hopin is the place where people meet one-on-one at RemoteAID. This is a great way to connect with other people in a way you can’t in a busy webinar

These one-on-one meetings are similar to a FaceTime call. You can leave at any time and have the option to click the Connect button during a call to exchange contact information. Its LinkedIn chat roulette!

One of the best things about conferences is the people you meet and who know who you may end up sharing a chat with… anyone from startup Founders, CEO’s of multinational companies or someone that can help you grow or develop your next big idea.

We can’t wait to meet some of you in the networking after working so hard on the event and as an added bonus, whoever gets the most networking connections will win an Owl Labs product worth $799!!

Donate to a Good Cause.

During Remote AID we will be collecting voluntary donations to the American Red Cross to help its lifesaving mission  during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can help us achieve our target of $5,000. Just go to our campaign page on Gofund.me to leave your donation.

And help us save more lives by joining forces in advocating Work From Home policies.

Conclusion

We are so excited to be hosting RemoteAID and raising money for such a good cause. If you are joining us this Monday, don’t forget to tag us on social media #remoteaid2020 so we can see where you are watching from!
