Originally constructed in 1859, the New City Gas company complex was built to transform coal into gas to light Montréal’s streets and buildings.
Renovated in 2012, the complex maintained its original structure, complete with vintage and historical elements. The impressive roofs and stone masonry remain a strong and evocative presence in the urban landscape, visible from all around Griffintown, the expressway, and the train.
The venue features a main hall with high cathedral ceiling, orchestra level, two mezzanines, three bars, and a two level, stone walled & semi-indoors courtyard which offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area, a legacy from Montréal’s bygone industrial era.
It’s located right in the heart of city.
Visitors to Montreal find the city’s energy and its European architecture an irresistible combination. It’s a vibrant city full of culture, with great entertainment and culinary palette.
Its flowing river, quaint streets and a bustling modern city centre make it an attractive destination for thousands of tourists every year. Canada is at the forefront of fighting COVID-19 infection rates.
