Why Would Salesforce Want to Buy Slack?

In one of the most interesting (and biggest) acquisitions in the remote work space, clear battle lines have been drawn between Salesforce and Microsoft. The battle is on for enterprise CRM (customer relationship management) users who are communicating via either Slack or Microsoft Teams.
