Holly May is a business executive and most recently was Chief People Officer for 6 years at Datavant, joining as employee 17 and scaling the organization to 9,000+ distributed employees. Datavant offers technology and services to securely access and connect medical data to improve patient outcomes and the delivery of healthcare services. Datavant includes remote, distributed teams of professional knowledge workers across the US and UK, as well as 7,000+ front-line associates providing manual services, many of whom are deskless workers.

Holly is passionate about talent, learning, growth, high performance teams, and has expertise in scaling culture and talent strategies in hyper growth technology organizations. Before the pandemic, the company was office-based in San Francisco. She led the rewiring of the organization to embrace remote work during COVID including practices for interviewing, onboarding, training and celebrating remotely, amplifying a culture of documentation and asynchronous collaboration, and formalizing communication norms, as well as ending office leases and shifting to a talent strategy to recruit nationally.

She left Datavant in January 2024 to enjoy a few months of recharging on sabbatical. Prior to Datavant, Holly worked in Silicon Valley technology companies and is passionate about improving healthcare. She holds a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Harvard College. She lives in Cary, North Carolina, USA, with her husband and two kids.
