Crystal Gaskin is a global HR executive, HR Advisor and Executive Coach. She combines her extensive human resource leadership and change management experience with a practical coaching style that is designed to help organizations accelerate and sustain change. Most recently she held the role of Chief People and Culture Officer for Mailchimp, an Atlanta based marketing tech firm, where she managed the company through a hybrid-work integration and culture transformation.
Crystal joined Mailchimp in 2020 as a fully-remote HR leader, catapulting her into the convergence of learning how to work and lead remotely at the same time. Her first task was designing an end-to-end remote employee experience for over 1400 people who had just moved from a highly social co-location environment to a 100% remote environment overnight. Crystal worked across the organization to enable a culture of inclusion and belonging, delivering a holistic and seamless employee experience. During this time, Crystal also led the team of talent, culture and DEI experts responsible for Mailchimp’s overall employee experience during the height of the global pandemic; piloted the company’s first program committed to a “work anywhere” strategy; and was responsible for the HR and culture integration post-Intuit acquisition.
With a career that spans over 18 years, Crystal has held HR leadership roles at Honeywell, Amazon and Kimberly-Clark. She is an expert in strengthening company culture and managing culture transformation to uphold company values while creating a more cohesive and equitable workplace. Crystal is passionate about helping leaders explore their belief systems and the mindsets that are key to their continued success. With her support, business leaders discover the root level of complex problems and develop results-oriented strategies that spark change and innovation within their organizations.
Crystal holds her MBA from Georgia Institute of Technology and BA in Marketing from American InterContinental University. In addition to her corporate experience, Crystal is an HR Advisor with SemperVirens, an early-stage venture capital fund with a portfolio of more than 50 industry-defining technology companies.
